Usually the heavy mods may disappear or not not function properly. It's mostly because of using many texture packs at once, if it's a thing then try to disable these packs or use BB alone. Usually it's related with compelx packs and unfortuantely there is not any fix for this. Also make sure to follow correct packs order - visible in resource packs settings tab.

No, due fact that it's just texture pack, it doesn't affect achievements in any way. You can use it without worry. It applies to main texture pack and extensions.
